Fighting the Good Fight
Every day you work tirelessly to prepare deserving students for college. If you could spend a weekend arming yourself with the skills you need to make a greater impact on Monday morning, you would.
Leading a successful urban school is the fight to which we are all committed.
We are all, no matter our titles or geography, in urgent and clear service of students.
We are all, no matter the challenge, driven to provide quality public education that delivers results for students in every classroom in every one of our schools.
There is no more excruciatingly beautiful work in the world, and we continue to learn from and turn to each other to push the impact of our practice.
Attend Weekend Warriors to strengthen your skills, impact your school, and ensure your students achieve at the highest levels.
Be a warrior for education
Designed for both new and experienced school leaders—from BES schools and from any other schools that follow the BES approach—Weekend Warriors is an intensive two-day training aimed at sharpening participants’ leadership skills.
Each Weekend Warriors begins with a visit to an exemplary BES school, where participants are exposed to the best practices in urban charter school leadership. On day two, participants immerse themselves in a full day of training on such pertinent themes as hiring and selection, managing and leading adults, and standards and assessments.
Through activities like analyzing classroom videos and role playing, participants learn the most efficient ways to manage their organizations so that they can concentrate on the goal at hand: closing the achievement gap.
Participants leave Weekend Warriors feeling energized and ready to implement concrete practices.
