In 2017, only 27% of high school graduates in the metro Atlanta area earned a post-secondary degree.


According to 2017 STAAR results, only 63% of all Houston ISD students in Grades 3-8 are reading at or above grade level.


Compared to 27 large cities, Shelby County District landed in the bottom third of results from the National Assessment of Education Progress, known as NAEP. It also lagged far behind Tennessee’s scores — in which only about one-third of students met the basic standards for proficiency.

In 2016, only 22% of San Antonio high school graduates were considered college-ready in English and Math.

Bay Area

In the Oakland Unified School District, the graduation rate for low income students is 65%.

Los Angeles

In LAUSD, only 78% of economically disadvantaged students graduate from high school.
